The Bicycle Kitchen exists to teach people how to repair and build bicycles. We think the best way to do that is at a physical space like the kitchen where you can ask questions, learn new ways of doing things, and hopefully complete the cycle by teaching others what you know.

But, if you are the type who likes to figure things out on your own – there are a lot of great websites and forums. Don’t be afraid to try to solve your problem online.

Sheldon Brown has an especially great site with all kinds of accessible information for the self learner. We use it all the time as a reference.
